There is a famous quote by Winston Churchill, “Many forms of Government
have been tried, and will be tried in this world of sin and woe.
No one pretends that democracy is perfect or all-wise. Indeed,
it has been said that democracy is the worst form of Government except
all those others that have been tried from time to time.”

Sure there are a lot of problems in a democratic society such as
ineffectiveness in policy-making, economic inequality, and corruption, etc.
But it is the most preferable form of government which has been
examined in the history of mankind. Why do we want Hong Kong to be democratized?
Fundamentally, I think the right to vote is one of our basic rights as a human being.
We want our voice to be heard in the legislation.
We want to elect representatives that can represent our interests.

In general, Accountability and liability are the key factors to sustain a government.
In the worse case, we can use the power of veto to protect ourselves
in a democratic system. This is the ultimate weapon of people provide
by a democratic system. Unfortunately, Hong Kong is not a democracy.
The power of our government is not granted by
Hong Kong people from bottom-up but from Top-down.

I believe democratization is inevitable in Hong Kong
because this is the trend that we moving forward to.
